Version 1.0.0 includes:

* Crocodile
* Giraffe
* Tiger
* Lion
* Penguin
* Bear
* Monkey

& also

* boy
* zookeeper

Let your child play with the jumble puzzles to see if they can make their favorite animals or create some new crazy animal combos. When they complete the animal the animals environment appears around them. It will also play your own recorded animal name, sound!

For more structured learning use the flash cards ( pull the handle in the top left of the app ). You and your child can flip through cards. Tap on the card to hear your recording. Just tap the microphone to record something new for that flashcard. Simple and lots of fun! Your children will love to hear your own voice ( or their own! ) saying the animal names or you could even record your own animal sounds!

You can change the flashcards to the following languages:
(Go to ’settings > zoo jumble’ from the iPhone home screens)

* English
* Catalan
* Spanish
* French
* German
* Dutch
* Italian
* Portuguese (Portugal)

You can record your own sound or animal name for each flash card in each language! This is great for helping multilingual children learn.

You can also adjust the following app settings:

* Enable / disable audio recording
* Show only the jumble puzzle
* Show only the flashcards
* Show both

Please not that the first generation iPod Touch does not have built in speakers! You will need to plug in headphones to hear the audio.

You can record audio on the iPhone or the iPod Touch using the Apple headphones with built in mic.

Have fun.

I submitted my Buubuu Farm iPhone app to the Apple app store 3 weeks ago. As you probably know the whole whole process of getting your apps on the app store can be quite protracted. One of main reasons why I made this Buubuu Farm app was to simply be able to understand and learn from the process for future projects.

Well, I thought I had done it correctly and jumped through all the various hoops Apple threw at me but the other day I received an email saying “We’ve reviewed Buubuu Farm and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store at this time because it does not contain an Application rating. Please visit iTunes Connect and rate your application appropriately. Once the necessary modifications are completed, please let us know so we can proceed with the review. ” Mmm, I was sure that I did rate it when I first submitted it.

Ah well, I am not too unhappy. At least they let me knew what the problem was and it seems simple enough to fix. I have rated the App now, Buubuu Farm is about as family / kid safe as you can get.

Is all I have to do is reply to the email they sent? That is all they seem to be saying.

And, as I’ll show in part 2, it can be used to streamline page templates for content management. All this in just one measly kilobyte (actually, 662 bytes, but who’s counting)

Buubuu Farm is a really simple touch and listen application. It was designed for young children, in fact I made this for my one year old son. He loves it!

You simply touch the cute animal images and listen to the animal sounds. It could not be any simpler. It is a great way to help you child learn. This application is ideal if you need to distract your child for a few minutes. Make sure you hold the phone for them, so they don’t throw it on the floor! Also don’t let them eat the phone Have fun. Oink oink!!

A multiplayer game Alien Farm for CBBC, developed and produced by Solaris Media Ltd. will go live soon. The game, which features collaborative gameplay for 6 to 12-year-olds, enables players to visit different alien planets, choose a team mate and then play one of six exciting missions.

Players take it in turns to herd cute alien characters to safety, whilst avoiding monsters, hazards
and obstacles. The game, which will feature seven different alien species is based on the
Gameking multi-user technology and will host up to 5,000 simultaneous users.

A ten-mission training academy also ensures that players get up to speed in mastering the
various techniques in the game, from space ship piloting and herding to operation of gadgets
such as the attractor field and power fan. Children can chat safely using a unique symbolic chat
system.

Stuart Eaton art directed and produced all the graphics, animations and UI elements for the game

Ubiquity asked us to creative direct, design and built 18 animated videos, more than 30 minutes, for the AA training CD-ROM.

We built a bespoke camera system in Flash which allowed us to quickly sketch out the animations to rough guide voice over tracks. We then refined and tweaked the animations to the final voice over.

The animations were designed to as clear and instructional as possible but still aesthetically pleasing, which I think we achieved well. The animations are accurate and precise and were all approved by the AA’s chief driving instructor.

There are thousands of Random House titles that have these book viewing widgets available. By the end of 2008 Random House expect this to be up to 5,000, with a widget available for the vast majority of all new publishing frequently weeks ahead of publication date to support pre-order sales activity.

jdp is a media company specialising in wildlife television, feature films and commercials. It has won numerous international awards for its innovative approach to filmmaking. It made its name by abandoning the traditional style of nature documentary and pioneering a highly inventive subjective approach. Through the use of new dramatic techniques it was possible, for the first time, to plunge the audience into the animal world.

JDP pioneered many of the spectacular techniques now commonplace in wildlife filmmaking. If you see an eyeball to wingtip shot of a flying bird, a shot from a camera on an animal’s back, a simulated animal viewpoint or a moving track around an animal frozen in time, you can be sure JDP created it first.

Stuart has worked with JDP for over 5 years. He created the companies branding and identity and online presence.
